FAQ
What Is Vascogenesis®?
The term Vascogenesis® is derived from the concept of vascularity which has to do with the blood supply needed for normal arousal and sexual performance; combined with the word “genesis” referring to new or reborn. This term therefore is a succinct description of how this revolutionary new treatment protocol works to potentially resolve various degrees of erectile dysfunction (“ED”).
The Vascogenesis® Protocol utilizes a number of new, cutting edge, technological and therapeutic innovations, including Low Intensity Shockwave Therapy, Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF), Penile Modeling and selective supplements and pharmaceuticals, all of which work together to stimulate the creation of new and increased blood supply to the genital area. It is this blood supply which a man needs to get and maintain his erection.
What Is Low Intensity Shockwave Therapy?
This technology was originally developed as a non-invasive treatment for kidney stones using focused energy to penetrate the skin and shatter the stones without the necessity of surgery. Beginning in Israel about a decade ago, and continuing there and in Europe to this day, the same technology, although at different energy frequencies, was tested in men suffering from ED. It was learned that these typically pain-free applications, administered at a number of locations in the genital area over a series of sessions, may stimulate angiogenesis, the growth of additional blood supply in the treated area. This increased blood flow and vascularity can lead to greater arousal, rigidity, and improved sexual performance in men experiencing various degrees of ED.
What Is Platelet Rich Fibrin Therapy (“PRF”)?
Platelet-rich fibrin therapy refers to a process by which a small vial of a person’s own blood is removed with a syringe, then using a centrifuge, separates out the platelets. These platelets are then injected back into the area being treated thereby increasing platelet concentration to trigger cell proliferation, speed healing, and stimulate tissue regeneration, including the creation of new blood supply. This therapy has been used for many years to promote healing in wounds and injuries in sports medicine. In terms of urologic conditions such as ED, it appears to improve erectile function, especially when combined with low intensity extracorporeal Shockwave therapy.
Does The Vascogenesis® Protocol Work? *
Based on evidence from a multitude of clinical studies over the past decade, the proper use of Low Intensity Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy alone should enable 70-75% of patients, whose ED is as a result of reduced or diminished blood supply to the genital area, to experience excellent results. With the addition of Testosterone Replacement Therapy, PRF, Penile Modeling, appropriately selected drugs and supplements and other synergistic treatments, it is believed that an even higher percentage of patients undergoing the full Vascogenesis® Protocol should have an appreciably noticeable, if not significant, improvement in their condition.

When Will I Know If The Vascogenesis® Protocol Is Working, And How Long Does The Improvement Last? *
Based on clinical studies, the effects of the Vascogenesis® Protocol should begin to be noticed approximately 6-8 weeks after the initiation of treatment and should continue to improve, with optimum benefits usually seen at the 3–4-month mark. Clinical studies on the benefits of low intensity shockwave therapy alone suggest a duration of benefits of 2-3 years at a minimum, and with the addition of the further synergistic and complimentary additional treatments offered as part of the Vascogenesis® Protocol it is felt that there is a real potential for a much longer period of improvement.

Is The Vascogenesis® Protocol Covered By Either Insurance Or Medicare?
Some erectile dysfunction services such as the initial exam, evaluation and diagnosis, certain prescription medications, and possibly testosterone replacement may be covered by insurance, depending on the provider and policy.*
While certain of the therapies that form the Vascogenesis® Protocol, particularly the use of Low Intensity Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy, have been widely recognized and approved for use in Europe by the European Urology Association, in the United States however it is still considered to be experimental, an off-label use for the treatment of ED. So too, other treatments used in our protocol have yet to be specifically approved for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, Accordingly, the client should anticipate that the majority of their treatment costs may not be covered by insurance.

Professional service fees for the Vascogenesis® Protocol however are very reasonable, especially when compared with the substantial lifestyle benefits that are achievable.
*Certain treatments may incur additional costs.
How Is Vascogenesis® Different From Other Providers Of Supposed Similar Services?
Vascogenesis® is Urology-based
All services included in the Vascogenesis® Protocol are designed, coordinated with, and provided by Board-Certified Urologists with decades of experience in the treatment of Erectile Dysfunction and other men’s health conditions. Others who may purport to offer similar services may not be urologists at all but may be ER physicians, anesthesiologists, primary care physicians, chiropractors, radiologists. etc., whose primary focus is not on the analysis and treatment of men’s health conditions. In fact, a good number of entities across the country offering shockwave and other therapies for the treatment of erectile dysfunction have no physician involvement whatsoever, bringing into question the credibility and legitimacy of the treatments they offer.
Vascogenesis® is Committed to Client Empowerment and Success
Unlike some other practices, the Vascogenesis® Protocol will only be offered to a prospective client:
-
After a complete medical evaluation and appropriate testing have been conducted;
-
After it has been ascertained that the client is a good candidate for the Protocol; and
-
If there is a high degree of confidence that the client can be helped.
Vascogenesis® Utilizes Cutting Edge Focused Shockwave Technology
The Low Intensity Extracorporeal Focused Shockwave Therapy devices utilized as part of the Vascogenesis® Protocol are the same ones actually used in the clinical studies proving the effectiveness of the treatment, as well as the devices being currently used in Europe for the treatment of urologic conditions. The type of devices used by many of the other medical practices offering Low Intensity Shockwave Therapy are different in that they are unfocused radial wave devices which emit a different energy level and type than focused devices and were not used or evaluated in any of the clinical studies for the use of this technology in the treatment of ED. Thus, it is currently unknown whether or not they can actually provide a similar benefit to that observed in the clinical trials.
Vascogenesis® Uses Next Generation Platelet Rich Fibrin
A further differentiation is that the Vascogenesis® Protocol utilizes platelet rich fibrin (“PRF”) which is an innovative second-generation improved version of the platelet rich plasma (“PRP”) typically used by other practices. PRF requires specialized equipment in its preparation and use, and to minimize any discomfort, should only be administered by a Board-Certified Urologist.
Vascogenesis® Offers Innovative Penile Modeling
The unique penile modeling devices made available to Vascogenesis® Protocol clients were developed by urologists affiliated with the renowned Mayo Clinic for the treatment of Peyronie’s Disease and have been repurposed by us for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
